In July 2018, partners from across the Alliance will be at the International AIDS conference in Amsterdam to focus on improving access for young people to strategic platforms in the HIV response.

Globally, key targets on HIV prevention will be missed if the current rate of progress is maintained, and during the conference, we will host an interactive panel debate on the progress made on the HIV Prevention 2020 Road Map and the critical role of communities in achieving the global targets.

Our AIDS 2018 campaign ‘Fresh Voices, Making Choices’ is a rallying call for renewed investment in community-led action to open up decision-making spaces to adolescents and young people. This includes those from key population groups living with and affected by HIV, including people who use drugs, sex workers, men who have sex with men, gay men and transgender people.

If you are heading to the conference, you can find key session dates for your diary below or download our AIDS 2018 Road Map. And whether you will be at the conference in person, or following it remotely, you can access practical resources developed with communities, with more visual content to come.

Join our flagship events at AIDS 2018

Communities have a critical role to play in achieving global HIV prevention targets. That’s why our flagship events are focused on civil society and the political and legal barriers to successful HIV prevention. In our first event – together with law enforcement, public health leaders and civil society activists – we’ll discuss how to collaborate to best reach key populations with HIV prevention services. In our second event, in response to UNAIDS’ report on the 2020 Prevention Road Map, we’ll discuss progress made towards achieving the targets in priority countries. See below for more information.
