Alliance events at the UN High Level Meeting on Ending AIDS
07 June 2016
Join us! This is a list of side events at the UN High Level Meeting (HLM) that the Alliance is involved in organising or includes Alliance speakers.
The HLM will review the HIV response in recent years and focus attention on the importance of accelerating progress over the next five years to set the world on course to meet the Sustainable Development Goal including tackling HIV. At the end of the meeting, Member States are expected to adopt a new Political Declaration.
The Alliance’s overall HLM advocacy ask is for a fully-funded global AIDS response, including increased investment in human rights interventions. We would like to see around one quarter of all resources allocated to combination HIV prevention, and a scale-up of community responses to build resilient and sustainable systems for health. We also want to see specific targets for prevention, treatment and human rights.
